What I Do
I help institutional funds — starting with Kenyan pension funds — enter and allocate into the Japan market.
Kenya-born, Japan-based for 25+ years. Through Olango Capital I provide placement-style advisory: board briefings, IPS support, manager mapping, and introductions to licensed Japanese asset managers in Tokyo.
The gap: Global placement agents do not specialize in Africa → Japan. Japanese managers sell products. No one advises African fund boards on Japan market entry from Tokyo. That is this practice.
I advise and introduce. I do not sell securities or act as a licensed placement agent under FIEA or CMA.

Dick Olango is Founder of Olango Capital and Managing Director at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions Japan. Kenya-born, Japan-based for 25+ years. Licensed Japanese architect.
He has spent his career at the intersection of buildings, real assets, and cross-border work between Kenya and Japan — from architecture and project management to national facilities operations at CBRE.
